Magic Man

Following their hard-earned success in the US, New England-based synth-pop group Magic Man are thrilled to announce their debut UK single release for ‘Texas’ on October 20th through Epic Records. The single is taken from their debut album Before The Waves, with the UK release expected for release in early 2015.

Magic Man was originally started by childhood friends Alex Caplow (vocals) and Sam Vanderhoop Lee (guitars and keyboards) while they travelled abroad trading labour for room and board on a series of French organic farms, creating the music for what would become Magic Man during their travels. Now they’re living a particularly lucid version of their childhood dream — playing huge shows and festivals across the US with three of their friends (Gabe Goodman on bass, Justine Bowe on keyboard and Joey Sulkowski on drums).

The band’s new single ‘Texas’ is a high-tempo synth-pop anthem that’s strong electronic beat, hazy vocals and frenetic synths have a distinctive summery vibe that is irresistibly fun and infinitely moreish.

Magic Man have recently toured with Walk The Moon, Sir Sly, MS MR, Panic! At The Disco, Ra Ra Riot, St. Lucia, and New Politics to name but a few, and will make their UK live debut at the esteemed New Shapes night at Notting Hill Arts Club on October 1st.

Fans who pre-order Before The Waves on iTunes now will receive an instant download of ‘Texas’, and further musical treats as the release draws closer!

The video premiered on Clash yesterday, but you can watch it here, right now.
