Sub Sage Press Shot 2London based duo Subculture Sage release their debut self-titled EP this week via Twisted Hearts Records.

Subculture Sage are emerging as one of the most exciting new UK Hip Hop acts. From musical backgrounds as diverse as Tropical Bass, Dancehall, Grime and Jungle, the London based producer/lyricist duo have come together through their mutual love of hip hop.

The ‘Subculture Sage’ EP explores youth, mischief and morality on beats that push the boundaries of what UK Hip Hop can be. The London based mc/producer duo celebrate their hometown’s urban and multi-cultural soul by creating a sound that brings a new flavour to the UK’s ever evolving music scene.

The duo have a number of live performances this summer including Boomtown and a slot at Bestival’s Reggae Roots Stage on 7th September.

Their previous tracks have seen support from key tastemakers, including Zane Lowe, Rob Da Bank, Mixmag, CLASH, Majestic Casual and many more. The new EP aims to showcase the duo as one of the leading alternative acts in the UK.

The self-titled EP was mixed and mastered at Firehouse Studios, responsible for recording many of the early Wu Tang, Gang Starr and Das EFX records.

The duo have brought together an extended family of acclaimed creatives, including the London graffiti artists Panik, photographer Paul Phung, and filmakers Mike Simpson (HSI) and Ricky Mundo (Mahogany).
