Currently premiering over on Indie Shuffle, Please Don’t is the final track to be heard from Leo Stannard‘s forthcoming second EP ‘Notions’.

Stannard’s early demos first began to take shape in the solitude of Ragdale, a small village just outside Leicester. In the years to come, juggling his education with his burgeoning music career, Leo slowly but surely began to hone his craft and become the artist that he is today.

Having been taught classical guitar since the age of 9, he’s developed his own, unique percussive style of play, taking hues from the likes of John Martyn, Nick Mulvey and Ben Howard.

After debuting his early songs on The Mahogany Sessions, his stunning solo performances (including an incredible Alt-J cover) have now racked up hundreds of thousands of views.

Following a sold-out European tour in April, and a headline slot at The Lexington in June earlier this year, Leo returned to the studio with producer Hugh Worskett (Crystal Fighters, Jamie N Commons, Delphic, Famy, etc) and had to balance exam notes and studio notes as they worked on the record at Flesh and Bone Studios in Hackney.

‘Notions’, Stannard’s second EP (out in October), marks a significant point his life. Finally music is able to take centre stage as school comes to an end, and whilst his music is well beyond his tender years, he’s only just getting started.

‘Notions’ is available to pre-order on iTunes here, and can be streamed below.
