John Newman has just announced his new single, featuring the legendary Charlie Wilson ‘Tiring Game’ out 9th October on Island Records.
John Newman, one of the major breakthrough artists in the UK in recent years, follows his recent Top 5 smash ‘Come And Get It’ with the release of rousing new anthem ‘Tiring Game’.
The single is taken from Newman’s forthcoming album ‘Revolve’ (Oct 16), the follow up to his platinum selling no. 1 debut album ‘Tribute’, and features legendary Gap Band founder and main man Charlie Wilson. Speaking about their time together John says : “Being around this amazing human you would never be able to guess the struggles he has had to overcome, he is such a humble and dedicated genius. It was honestly a mind-blowing pleasure working with such a legend (and now good friend).”
Both single and album ‘Revolve’ look set to confirm the Yorkshire-man as one of the UK’s most singular talents and consistently successful artists. Fans will have a chance to see and hear John and full band perform the new songs live at the Tennents Vital Festival in Belfast on Saturday August 29th and Glasgow Summer Sessions on Sunday August 30th with Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding. The 25 year old Yorkshireman has also announced two headline shows for November which sold out instantly – Manchester’s Albert Hall November 22nd and Koko, London the following night.
An accompanying book, also entitled ‘Revolve’ and published by Quadrille, is a first person account by John documenting the creative process involved in the making of albums one and two and will be released at the same time.
