Halflife stream second track ‘Rip Me’

This, their second piece of output following the acclaimed ‘Subtle‘ last year, is a sprawling, murky, and enigmatically dark song

subtly powerful production, soaring hook, and personal lyrics are combined masterfully–two artists from different worlds totally in sync…a mournful, genre-defying beauty.” Pigeons and Planes

“an introverted lament rich in sonic textures…a subtle affair that uses restraint for a heightened emotional impact. It’s a great partnership that seems to have come out of nowhere. Let’s just hope there’s plenty more where this came from.” Complex

“Halflife is the team of the ridiculously talented British rapper and actor Riz Ahmed and the dubstep producer Distance…this sounds like something back-in-the-day Tricky might’ve made if he’d access to sharper, clearer beatmaking software.” Stereogum

Today sees British duo Halflife reveal their second track together, entitled ‘Rip Me’. The track is now available to stream here:

Halflife is the new collaboration between pioneering bass music producer Distance, and rapper/actor/musician Riz Ahmed.

Following the British duo’s debut track together ‘Subtle’, which expertly blended Riz’s incredible lyricism with Distance’s low rumbling beats and soaring soundscapes, the pair have now revealed the dark and murky ‘Rip Me’, which shows the duo in a new light, but one that is equally as intriguing and impressive.
