Everything Everything share video for Spring / Sun / Winter / Dread
Everything Everything have just shared the video for their new single ‘Spring / Sun / Winter/ Dread’ set for releaseon 4th September through RCA Records. It’s the third track to be taken from their highly acclaimed third album ‘Get To Heaven’.
Watch the video below:
Anonother Jonathan Higgs production, he explains “The song talks about seasons passing and getting older, so we wanted to concentrate on the Sun and make it into a kind of oppressive force – positive and life-giving but also burning and destructive. We used Ultra-Violet and Infra-Red cameras to get a look at the sun damage on our skin, and give everything an alien look. We shot in a quarry so we could have a clear horizon and a dry, hot, desert scene. Most of the sun effects were completed afterwards because we picked a rainy day to shoot, though we did spray everything silver in order to get some good light reflections and add to the heatproof/astronaut feel.”
The band’s third album ‘Get To Heaven‘ is one of Ladbrokes favourites to win this year’s Mercury Prize, following its critically acclaimed release a few weeks back.
Receiving some of the best reviews of the band’s career, the album was produced by Stuart Price, hitting the UK Top 10 on release and has seen the band become one of the most played on both Radio 1 and 6 Music, with A List records for both “Distant Past” and “Regret”, as well as an appearance on Radio 1’s Live Lounge.
The same week the album was released Everything Everything played two shows at Glastonbury, including a phenomenal Other Stage performance that drew a huge crowd that witnessed a defining moment for the band.
Everything Everything will be appearing at Reading and Leeds Festival at the end of August, before they return to the UK to play Festival No 6 in September and then embark on their biggest tour yet in the autumn.
