Ang Low1Having made a spectacular debut online with his debut EP release, which saw him crowned with the “Defiant, unconventional pop” moniker by NME and “nothing short of captivating” by The Line of Best Fit to name a few, Brooklyn–based Ang Low returns with his single ‘Wild Horses’ through Super Recordings on October 13th.

The follow-up to his rapturous debut EP ‘Life Goes Down’, this single brings his inimitable fusion of stripped back, emotive, fractured R&B and ecstatic electronics to the fore once again.

Wild Horses is an intriguing single that simmers and soars. Amongst its commanding beat, daring bass and beautiful synths we find Ang’s smooth vocals pulling the track together with an effortless ease. Produced by Richard Frenneaux, Wild Horses was co-written with Laura Welsh, who features on Gorgon City’s most recent #10 single ‘Here For You’, and Richard Frenneaux.

Super Recordings is an independent London-based record label. Founded in 2010 by Raffertie, Super has released music by artists including AlunaGeorge, Bondax and Honne.

Ang Low’s mission statement is quite simple: ‘music, art, expression’. Real name Angelo Whitehead, Ang Low’s childhood was scattered across cities, states, continents with his father’s army position taking the family from Tacoma, Washington to Germany via stints in New York, Alaska, Mexico and more.

Never one to rest on his laurels, Ang has been holed-up in the studio of late writing and recording with the likes of Scott Hoffman, Michael Tighe (Jeff Buckley, Marc Ronson) and Omen (Beyonce, Drake). Plans for his live assault on the US and UK this autumn / winter are afoot… so watch this proverbial space.
